Hey edgy.....with all due respect, even the mining media has characterised this takeover attempt as 'hostile'. How could it be called 'friendly'?
you said....
"If one is against the merger than one should not tender the votes, no need to use 'hostile' terminology. It needlessly agravates the offer and sets a bad tone for future relations should the merger succeed."
....okaaay, how about....."jeez, you know....I really like you NOT guys. I especially like the way you drill right up to FWR claim boundary.....and put those measuring thingy's down to....ah..measure. And the way you insulted Mac....a couple of times, and said to the whole world that chrome and Cliffs are not important. And the way you made the offer to Mac and then expect me to be impressed with NOT managerial skills. I'm starting to feel warm & fuzzy. The way you announce a gold hit only minutes after FWR rejects your offer to do the 'mining hug'. The invitation to join a group of non-explorers in an exploring endeaver.....and I love the word 'synergy'. Other than that, and the real possibility I would be moving my hard earned dollars, from management that has a stellar reputation vis a vis shareholder satisfaction, to a management that has a history and reputation of shareholder dissatisfaction(I'm being polite)".....it's all so 'friendly'.
Before you shoot the messenger.....I am a NOT shareholder and I don't like this offer. NOT and FWR both need to drill up their claims and then talk about a 'friendly' .....consolidation hug.
....cheers....sambone
