"The one thing I do know is this takeover thingie is going in the direction of the Dodo bird. That is unless NOT can come up with some miracle resucitation. Nots SP is going in the wrong direction "
You may be right, but there is something you should keep in mind. The one thing that we might know is that NOT has been planning this for a while. That being the case, I just wonder of all of the contingencies that they have envisioned on their path to attempting dominance. I wonder what other forces in the mining industry world wide they have enlisted. I wonder how many FWR shares they have wrested over the past months....when FWR was forever selling between .22 and .26 with huge walls on both the bid and the ask. I wonder at NOTs present share price and the real reason it sits where it does, not the reason some would like to believe. You have a team of highly skilled individuals in various business disciplines and tactics, some whose work you are familiar with from other business ventures, like them or not.
It is easy to attack a sitting target and much more difficult to defend it particularly if it has been studied to find it's vulnerabilities. This is not the same clumsy dissident group that demonstrated an uncouth and transparent attempt at attaining their goal last year. This is an experienced well oiled machine whose circular demonstrates now a certain surgical approach. I would prefer a "family business" but my guess is that the hard nose guys finish first. I don't have any idea how the deal will turn out accept that I might expect the unexpected. I also think that this group has the chops to get the job done using all of the tricks and subterfuge necessary to play this game. This is not a recommendation on actions to take either way, just impressions. I don't like the hardnose. I prefer the friendly. I just don't believe that one can survive that way. The Chinese are demonstrating that they will play hardball. These are the folks that NOT et al will have to compete with in staying alive. In the end we may find that NOT's way, as seemingly selfish as it might be, is what will get you the prize. Who can say with certainty that NOT's approach will or will not result in a satisfactory ending for NOT and FWR? I don't know, but I'm watching carefully and waiting for more information. The wind can come from anywhere.
