Hoov reading NN's informative post reminded me that Inco opened another open pit ( 3-5 years ago) very close to Creighton (1 km west) at the site of a very old Inco mine called Gertrude.

They actually gated and closed one of their associated local access roads to the public, thus limiting our recreational activities in the area...much to the chagrin of local outdoor enthusiasts.
