Great post.

Xstrata is an obvious candidate for RoF. Nickel Smelter in Sudbury and expertise in ferochrome production in SA.

This article makes it clear that they have the expertise to explore and to develop mine infrastructure in a responsible way.

They have their sights on Anglo-American at about $39B. Will they look at a small project in the Jame sBay Lowlands? But the key question is...can they afford to let a competitor get the chrome & nickel? It's all about market share.

Six months ago Xstrata was in financial difficulties and raised some $$$ in London in a 2 for 1 deal. A rather desperate move I would say. However they seem to be on their feet again.

Don't count them out.
