That's the way it goes when merger/takeover offers are on the table. The target company's stock rises to the offer price. Since the Noront offer is a pure stock swap at a fixed ratio, the two stocks will track each other until the offer changes, is accepted or is rescinded. The market essentially levels the playing field based on the new "rules".
