"However, a very curious fact remains - based on the fact that he couldn't meet with them - they felt it necessary to prepare a detailed news release (that had to be approved by lawyers, no doubt) over the weekend and one that got released at 6:30 am on Monday morning.
Not much time wasted and lots of work for lots of people over the weekend. Unless of course that they already had it planned that way.......
What was the rush? Why was there such urgency?"
This is somewhat reminiscent of a certain proxy battle isn't it? What I'll be looking for is the tell tale signature of mud slinging against FWR as they did against the former BOD initiated by certain individuals who, to this day, garner dubious affection from NOT shareholders. If I see this kind of handling this time around I will not be impressed. I'll be looking for a discrediting of the FWR BOD by the NOT propaganda machine. If I see appropriate arguments about the validity of this move then I will listen, but I have a very fine filter for manipulative language and maligning. The very fact that NOT couldn't work things out with FWR in a reasonable setting in a reasonable time frame sets off bells. Going to the shareholders is exactly what they did with the former BOD and they are doing it again with FWR. I'm not pleased with the progress after that to date and I would be left wondering about their abilities other than to dethrone BODs.
It occurs to me that NOT totally expected to be refused by FWR and went immediately to plan B as a result. The dethroning worked once before, why not again? If this is acceptable to you then I guess you are fine with it, otherwise it might raise some thoughts as to how they may treat shareholders some time when we are between them and their goal. At present we only know what they say their goal is. Let's hope it sticks.
