Schooling up is one reason to go there...but what if there was more to this? What if we were there to look at partnering with a major chromite producer? I can see a few ways to develop a symbiotic relationship with one of the big boys of chromium. I remember speaking with RN on many occasions on the advantages we would have in Canada to process Chromium into ferrochromium, a process that adds huge value to the raw ore. The large electrical power needed to do this has been a big issue in SA while here in Canada, we could have a very steady supply at one of the best prices in the world. Thunderbay was always seen as the ideal location as it not only has the power supply right there but also the deep water ports and access to the US market.
I can see a relationship where we partner up with someone and they build the Smelter and we pay our share thru future sales of Chromium. Something like this would be great for Noront and would help protect the market share in NA of the company that we would partner up with. This would also help establish the infrastructure in the RoF and then our Nickel would me much more profitable.
The 43-101 coming in the fall will give us some great ammunition to negotiate with these guys but I think our guys already have a good handle on the quantity and quality or our raw chromium.
So schooling up in SA for sure, but other great options are available as well, especially when you consider we sent our CEO, CFO and our director that is the most skilled in Chromium.
Just some food for thought!!
I am leaving for the cottage for the weekend, be back on Sunday night. Play nice while I am gone!!
