Actually BofC said earlier that it was a possiblility with tongue in cheek. I heard it on CBC TV July 21 evening news. Obg, you must have a depression in mind. I believe that thought does not apply to recessions.

OTTAWA — A well-worn joke says that a recession is when your neighbour loses their job - and a depression is when you lose yours.
But in reality it's hard to find a clear-cut, agreed-upon definition of what constitutes an economic depression.
Most attempts to define it do so in terms of recession, which is technically defined as two consecutive quarters of shrinking economic output.
"There is no such definition for a depression, other than a prolonged and pronounced recession," says Finn Poschmann, vice-president of research at the C.D. Howe Institute.
