Nickel surges 1.04 pc on global trend

New Delhi, July 20 (PTI) Nickel futures extended gains and added another 1.04 per cent on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) today as traders created fresh speculative positions in line with firming trend in base metals in global market boosted by an improved economic outlook.

A weak US dollar also supported the rising metal prices at the futures market. At the MCX platform, nickel for delivery in July month contract spurted by 1.04 per cent to Rs 784.90 per kg in a turnover of 5,838 lots, while the August month contract rose 0.99 per cent at Rs 788.50 per kg with a turnover of 1,244 lots.
