Rob, my friend; You may have just come up with a million dollar question. I believe the 100m was just a suggestion, as that is a good distance to space holes from the surface. What if it would not give a good indication from downhole and they spaced it at 200m (or 300) and have hit in a similar fashion to hole 49. That would certainly be reason for them to be sitting back trying to figure how to disseminate it to the public.
