Hole 09-49

I think we can all agree that Noront has been conservative in its divulsion of info almost to the point of being negative. We seem to be doing better but I'm betting the Exploration Update has a heavy dose of holding back. I have been trying to see the relevance of hole 49. It was drilled at the north western contact of the Eagle One conduit, which I assume was positioned to see whether the orebody goes straight down and if not, where it deviates to. I am thinking that they may have suspected that they would miss the ore body completely as it was a 100m platform hole for BHEM. What actually happened was the orebody continued at depth allthe way with waste curving into the orebody at 510m down and back out at 749.7m down. I don't know the coordinates of the hole but Sect 3625 has been one that has been singled out in the past so it may be the western edge of that section. On page 88 of the Tech report released July 2008, you can see the section I am talking about and you can see how the orebody is relatively straight down but curves around a bit. I would say this is a bit too consistent but if it was once flat and is now turned on its end, it is plausible that this structure can go down a long ways yet. What is exciting and more than a bit suspenseful is we know nothing about the other two dimensions. I also don't know the coordinates of the 45 hole but that intersected ore at 375m down to 420m. This section of core seems to correspond to the first encounter of ore at the 49 hole, which you can see clearly when you plot the intersections.

There is not nearly enough information yet, but the other two dimensions do not need to be very large to make this orebody ten times eagle one, let alone triple. It still may be open at depth. Time will tell.
