"Hey OBG you are missing my point, that being, to be gratefull for your full glass. There is no need to have it overflowing. No one is suggesting we revert to labour conditions of 150 years ago. Those days are gone thank god. It is time, however, to live with a little more reality. The fairytale is coming to an end and we are tasting some of this reality as we speak."

My thoughts exactly Deputy.

Human nature is disgusting really...the more we get the more we want. We rarely stop to appreciate and be grateful.

Somewhere there is a happy medium.

Mickey Rooney did an interesting piece a while back on 60 minutes. One point he made was that in todays society everyone points to their rights whereas in the past the emphasis was on our reponsibilities.

No I am not a union basher...I believe they have their place. It is not just unions that have to learn to live with new realities it is all of us.

As the Deputy says, it is great to have the glass full but it need not be overflowing.

We can continue to demand more and become less and less efficient as long as we understand that jobs are moving offshore as a result and our economy will continue to decline.

In Canada we enjoy a very high standard of living mainly because we have the natural resources to sell. When that runs out where will we be?

Have a great Sunday.
