Because you cannot have a seller without a buyer. Were there not willing and somewhat arranged buyers equal to or greater than the sellers at open, the price would have nosedived quickly and the volume then shriveled intraday. Not what we saw, the price moved mostly sideways. Emphasize "pre-arranged" played a big role in today's transactions.
