On the surface it appears grim as another 5,000 CDN workers are shown the gate,however,they are being encouraged to take 2 months vacation,they will probably receive EI compensation and when they return to work they will be quite busy as nickel demand seems to be on the rebound.I like this quote from a Vale spokesperson regarding the Ni supply situation.

“The pipeline is full. We are not selling all the nickel we produce in Ontario and so this allows us to clear the pipeline. …When we return to work we are going to be in a much better position,” Mr. McPhee said.
