Anything that can be manipulated for profit will be. It's the law of the "jungle". It exists on all levels of human endeavour, most of it seemingly innocuous, much of it unknown and well engineered. Anyone saying it doesn't exist on this scale is either naive or working for those that would have us believe otherwise. It is to deny that excessive greed and power exists. Think cigarettes and auto companies that settled instead of fixing parts and countless other examples of money first thinking vs human ethics. I don't think tgarfield is that naive.
