For the record, this is a statutory holiday in Ontario...I checked with the ministry and it is for sure a stat holiday. The August long weekend is not a stat holiday though even though it is treated that way by most businesses. So anyone working today on regular time in Ontario should make their employers aware of this. Just do a google search on family day Ontario if your boss needs more proof.
