Hi Mustang, I believe that "Family Day" is a statutory holiday in Ont, Sask, and Alta. I think depending on contract negotiations is where some have it and others don,t. If it is not in your contract as it stands then NO you don't get it off as contracts override the legislation. Something to bargain for in your next contract negotiations. Some newer contracts have ahd the option of taking the "Family Day" as a holiday and losing the civic holiday Aug 1st as it is not statutory. Too bad you have to work as it is a beautiful day outside in Keswick I am sure.
