Not that simple actually. If an offer comes in, the board gets to review it, and either accept it or reject it. If they reject it, it becomes a hostile bid if the offeror wishes to still proceed and things tend to get complicated. If the board accepts it, they then have to publicly offer to buy the shares, and you get to either sell or decline.
