are so important at this time, in spite of the downturn in the economy, is not only that they can be picked up more cheaply, or that when the "recession" ends commodities will be in demand, but more deeply put, the world will likely be a much different place economically speaking and there will be competition for supremacy on all levels with various groups trying to maintain or attain dominance over resources as they continue to become ever more scarce and all the more precious. This is certainly not a new idea but it will be a more intense experience than most have witnessed. Vast fortunes have and will have changed into new hands as yet unknown as we go forward. People like G.W.B. have uttered terms like "New World Order" to describe what awaits down the road. What ever one wants to call it, it will be our future and what it will look like will at the very least be interesting to see.
