Chrome
So this NR seems same old same old, confirming we got lots of high grade Chromium with great Chrome to Iron ratio (2.2 as opposed to Bushveld I believe was only 1.5-please correct me if I am wrong here). We also have HUGE tonnage of this stuff already between BB1&2 and the Black Thor of FWR make it that we have enough to be economical. So what is the hold up on getting some value for this? The only problem I see and they are finally going to look at it is metallurgy. The metalurgical testing will show us our recovery rates, best method of recovery and other very crucial information when it comes to mining this deposit. The fact that we will have these results before the middle of the year means we will finally get some value for our Chromium and although the world has enough Chromium to last us over 200 years, we have a grade and shallow depth to make this economical if the metalurgy testing works in our favor. So keep your fingers cross on this one.
Nickel
Please reread this part of the NR from November 10th 2008:
Noront in its Eagle One Extension Program has been diamond-drill testing the peridotite north-south striking dike or conduit between the Eagle One deposit and the AT1 anomaly, some 800 meters to the south, since earlier this summer. The most recently completed hole in this program, NOT-08-44, entered the peridotite conduit at 294.2 meters and returned 28.5 meters of copper-nickel sulphide mineralization to 322.7 meters where the hole left the peridotite conduit and continued in granodiorite until its end at 375.0 meters.
Following is a more detailed summary of hole NOT-08-44. Assays from the hole are pending and true widths cannot be determined at this time.
The mineralization intersections reported are from visual observations and the pending assay reports must be awaited to give a more precise estimation of significant mineralization present. Notwithstanding the foregoing, visual observations are estimates only and pending assay results may not confirm visual observations in whole or in part.
Hole NOT-08-44 is approximately 70 meters vertically below hole NOT-08-28 & 32 previously reported (see press release dated May 8, 2008), which both returned significant core widths of copper-nickel and PGM mineralization from the Eagle One Deposit.
The previously completed eight drill holes (NOT-08-36 to 43) in this Eagle One Extension program were south of the previously known Eagle One Deposit and although they tested the same peridotite host conduit no significant mineralization was encountered.
So this hit is 70M below Eagle 1, is 28.5M long (Including 14.1M of massive sulfides) and it is mineralized with copper nickel. Since this is very likely part of the complex that formed Eagle 1, grade here should be good to very good IMO.
The other interesting part is
Two drills owned and operated by Les Forage Drilling Orbit of Val D'Or Quebec, have been contracted to drill in the vicinity of the Blackbird occurrences, both rigs will be drilling in systematic step outs exploring the area to determine continuity of the chromium-enriched zones, while in some instances testing other nearby gravimetric anomalies
So Noront owner of 3 drills has added 2 more drills and if I read this right now we have 5 drills? I believe this to be the case as I have heard that Noront had mobilized all 3 drills to the Eagle 1 vicinity. At first I thought this was probably wrong info as NOT would not put all their eggs in one basket but now hearing that 2 new drills have arrived does mean we can put Johnny and June and Dick (did we have a name for the 3rd drill??) to work on our most promising piece of real estate: The area of Eagle 1!!
So if ever there was a time to sit tight and not day trade, I think we are there. We could be halted or get a significant Nickel/Copper NR at any time now with assays being at the lab for over 2 months and the blackout being lifted.
As painful as this has been my friends, I believe we are about to get some well deserved relief in our SP.
The other interesting point is that these 2 latest NR did not appear in the Agoracom home page? Is this just an oversight? Has the current BoD issued new orders on how to distribute NR?
The important part is we finally have news and the best is yet to come IMO!!
Cheers,
Glorieux
