Hoping this is NOT true. Heard on the weekend that aside from ending $1 beer, Ontario Finance is pressing for higher resource and land use taxes, this time under guise of 'higher minimums' . Higher resource taxes have always been Ontario's 'programmed response' to declining revenue , but I somehow cannot think this would not happen in the current scenario. Apparently,the bureaucrats are being really pressed. Has anyone seen any pronouncements on this ?
