VANCOUVER - Canaccord Capital Inc. said Thursday it swung to a sharper-than-expected loss in the second quarter because of ongoing distress in financial markets, forcing the brokerage to suspend its dividend.
Vancouver-based Canaccord, one of Canada's biggest independent brokerages, said it suffered a net loss of $5.4 million, or 11 cents a share, in the three months ended Sept. 30, compared with a profit of $15.3 million, or 31 cents a share, in the year-earlier quarter.
The loss is much sharper than what analysts had forecast.....etc.
I won't post the whole article...it's in the Vancouver Sun today.
