This is a small problem with the written word. It is sometimes hard to show your intended tone.

Cos, I believe I understand fully where you are coming from, and in no way feel we are at each others throats. I respect your opinion, and you very well may be right. We are just discussing the topic.

For me, I can be very determined (stubborn)and will often fight until the last dog is hung. It is just my personal choice to take this position, but I am not saying you are wrong.

Good addition to the analogy, suggesting the prudent move if your family is with you.
