Since a strong tie between NOT and Barrick exists (see my post earlier today), just how big is Barrick?

The on-going market meltdown in the USA has hammered some major blue-chip stocks. For example, here is the current market capitalization of Ford and GM compared with Barrick and Noront (all USA$):

Barrick (ABX) $17 billion

Ford Motor (F) $5 billion

General Motors (GM) $3 billion

Noront (NOSOF) $0.08 billion

Barrick is over FIVE times bigger than General Motors, and over THREE times bigger than Ford!

The bottom line for tiny Noront is that Barrick, on its own, has the very deep pockets needed to prove up and develop the Ring of Fire. Noront, on its own, did not.

Noront now having access to Barrick is a good thing. Sure, I would have preferred a white knight coming to Noront's rescue, but a grey knight will do.
