NI 43-101 Update (September 2012): 11.1 Mt @ 1.68% Ni, 0.87% Cu, 0.89 gpt Pt and 3.09 gpt Pd and 0.18 gpt Au (Proven & Probable Reserves) / 8.9 Mt @ 1.10% Ni, 1.14% Cu, 1.16 gpt Pt and 3.49 gpt Pd and 0.30 gpt Au (Inferred Resource)
All our votes in favour of the current BOD certainly helped us to limit the damage which could have been the case if vote was lost to Rosseau, Let's be positive on the fact that uncertainty is no out of the air en move fitter, faster and further with the assets discovered and to be discovered.
Now the battle is over, it is much more likely a major will step in in the coming weeks to months, no further loss of energy to the circumstancles, it is core business which counts, continued drilling and participation by a major.
If on takes the example of Copper Mountain Mining, where Mitsubishi Materials took a participation of 25% for a total amount C$28.75 M(illion) including obliged effort for a project financing of C$ 250 M and a contract for buying the copper concentrate (Voisey being the other fine example but less recent). It seems to be early for such a transaction although majors are all over Noront at the time, participation of a major would be highly positive in view of burnrate and existing cash at C$ 35 M (C$29 M current cash position + C$ 6 M proceeds from the earlier warrants).
$ Drills are quietly turning, in search of the magmatic massive sulphide zone underneath AT 12's nickle discovery, in search of additional MMS clusters at depths at Eagle 1 (alike Voisey), the third drill being at BlackBird I and II to see whether the chromite discoveries are connected and the forth at the JV 40 miles north from Eagle I at the tail of the Ring of fire.
As soon as Eagle I is nominated as a mine, Eagle II and AT12 can become sattelite mines as these two discoveries are currently not feasible as stand alones due to lower grades involved. Holes number 11 and 12 at AT 12 will be up for lab results and this may indeed be enough on itself for a major stepping in, as Novak expects nickel grade between 1.5 to 2 % based on internal screening. Eagle i feasibility studies to be delivered end of 2008, beginning of 2009 may be the other trigger for any of the majors to make the necessary step for participating in the new Sudbury of 150 yrs ago.
Both China and USA have earlier declared chromite to be a startegic metal, Blackbird I holds (on a conservative basis) 12 million ton CR203 potential, at $600 a ton (for 40% CR203) makes $ 7.2 B potential, it will not come below $ 2.4 B according to Neil Novak during his European tour de force, mainly based on high chrome to ferro ratio of 2.44% as well as the metallurgic charateristics 'lumpy and in lime-stone, so a relative easy target if it comes down to mining the assets. Let's hope his Tour of duty at Noront will continue for coming periods as we need the guy to offset former ARU executives (for what the word 'executive' is worth these days). Then again, CEO of FWR believes we will be over 100 Million ton in total, what we see is what we get ?
Now, to all new board members as per tomorrow's AGM (whether or not playing a role in ARU), go to work and proceed the way RN did, blood, sweat and tears will be yours if you do the job well, and do not forget the reatil investors as this may get you into deep trouble like you have never seen. We now know how to mobilise votes for any upcoming AGM or planned by the retail circle-of-trust around the ring-of-fire.
