While I don't like the thought much it's likely Rousseau did manage to get at least some Retail shares voting his way. Not everyone is prepared to do due dilligence and could be tempted to vote against current management just because of the share price pain they feel.
Will all the education done by Noront and by Forum member helpers to 'get out the vote' the few retailers voting with emotion instead of their head will be easily swamped.
Lots of us have been so wrong predicting share price we're gun shy about predicting votes and so is Dick Nemis.
My guess is that 40% for Rousseau is too high since it assumes he will get all the (roughly 30%) institutional 'big guy' votes and that's not a certainty. Giving him 10% of 'Retail' anger votes is also high since a good number of those angry shareholders are less inclined to follow thru and vote compared to those, like most of us, who analysed this situation and know we had to/have to vote to protect our investment from rape and pillage by a hedge fund we suspect has that in mind.
'Retail Votes' for management? Tough getting out the vote but have to figure at least 90% of votes cast will go in Dick's favour. IF 80% of retail votes are cast there is no way we can lose this.
