I've started reading your posts.

I find them interesting and informative.

You appear very knowledgeable.

I've often wondered why people use the word "borrow" when it comes to "shorts"

When I borrow something I always ask first and say please but just as important..... when I give the item I borrowed back I make sure it is in as good a condition as when I borrowed it, if is it not, I make up for the damage as best i can.

When it comes to borrowing shares for shorting I'm not sure that the owner of the shares is made aware.

It may be a condition when one opens an account but still to borrow something with the "intention" of making it less valuable is NOT my definition of borrow.

It seems to me it is like taking someone's wallet, without saying "Please", taking money out, and then replacing only the wallet without saying Thanks"

....and of course "naked shorts" is criminal to my way of thinking.

What am I missing?
