If I was Richard I would explore the legal aspect of postponing the meeting, even if it means obtaining an injuction to do so in the light of it contain statements that are untrue and derogatory.
If he can get a postponment it would then give him time to obtain an injuction as to the legality of their proxy on the grounds that it contains untruths and does not state the facts, only assumptions.
The injuction would be for them to have to cancel their first proxy and re submit a proxy that contains the facts beyond all doubt. If succesfull the cost to the "Enemy" would be probably more than they can take another chance on and where would they get the actual facts for a re-sumittal of their proxy.
I am sure Richard must know the Legal chances regarding this and maybe this would stand up in court.
