I was told by the office that we should hit the area of hole 100 within two weeks.

I think this is a conservative estimate, we could hear something anytime, if there is visible gold.

And why wouldn't there be?

Although much of the gold results were much deeper, The mother of all holes, hole 100, lies between 78 and 124 meters. That core contained visible gold with incredible grades. Here is how Noront described the plan:

To accomplish this task, an underground ramp is proposed to attain a final elevation of 100 metres below surface. The ramp should be positioned and driven in such a manner as to intersect the maximum number of zones where more reliable sampling and geological mapping can be accomplished.

Noront expects to complete Phase 1 of the underground programme before the end of 2008. This phase will enter the F-11, F-17 and NOT-06-100 areas up to 100 m below surface.

Although we are not hearing much, they are right on schedule.
