I would like to know why you think there is some mystical link between the AGM and significant news. What is it that one would do for the other, other than to satisfy some Romantic notion of a grand meeting of all concerned who are lead out of their despair through cheers in response to great news..... add appropriate triumphal music. The gathering of several dozen people in a rented room in no way has any bearing on when, how or why news is delivered. It's nice in a Hollywood movie for affect but that's all it is. It is a yearly planned event and is bound to report things as they come and as they are. Could there be news just before? Yes, but let's not make any more out of it than simple occurrence.
