My $1.47 worth

I decided to throw in my $1.47 on the board happenings today.

First, I too am sad to see Coswil go. I should have messaged him yesterday as I too have been the brunt of disagreements and some attacks in the past and it is always a kick in the jewels. After awhile it can take a toll on someone and a break is often needed.

But like I said when D12 left, "take the time you need away from the board and return when you are ready". The NOT board is addictive and like coffee, you can try to go cold turkey for awhile but as long as a person is a NOT shareholder, it is hard to stay away and you start to get the shakes.

Of all the people who have quit this year (and there have been a few including myself), most have returned. The exception being FranzNeuman. The only advice I could give to Coswil is not to delete your account as somebody else could register it and then pose as you (and tarnish your good reputation).

I am confident Coswil will be back at some point. The show of support in the form of votes on his supporters postings go a long way.

Yesterday I posted about off-topic vs. on-topic. So enough has been said from me on that subject. What I would like to discuss is flexibility.

The board has many purposes but the main two a (so-called) safe forum to express opinions and information related to NOT, and the second it seems is that of a support group that encourages each other when times get tough in the market. Both are valid.

If we are honest, 95% of the posts on here have no real significance to providing information that we could not find in the Noront press releases or in the news. The 5% that remains are items like information from those living in rural Ontario near the mines and those that call the President and provide an update. The rest we can find out by searching the web and taking a course in a particular subject matter, whether it be geology, mining, finance, investing, or politics.

The key is that many of us do not have the time to become subject area experts in all these things so we rely on each other to learn more about topics affecting Noront. I enjoy reading all posts on here, even if they are lame or incomprehensible as it shows me that a person took the time to say "I support Noront".

And is that not what this board is partially about. We provide free information to support not only ourselves (many write out their thoughts on here to reinforce their faith in their investment) but each other as well.

It is bad enough the market is going to hell. Let's keep this board from following that path!

M1.
