I understand your point but do not have the firm grip on the Technical Events that are the back bone of Large Institutional Investors, Day Traders, and the various Brokerages, etc..

But all of the above, EXCLUDING DayTraders, base their initial Investment on FUNDAMENTALS. There may be a few Hedge Funds out there that use some basic Technical Analysis to find their next investment but they compete with the DayTrader types. Very dicy business under normal conditions (between Overall Market Tpos and Bottoms, etc..

With the tormoil of this current phase in the Markets there are very likely many Big Players who have the Where-With-All to make very good use of Technical Analysis, but they would also be careful to know the Fundamentals behing any Stock they venture to get involved in. Otherwise, in these market conditions, as with all other market conditions, these BIG PLAYERS rely on instant Technical Analysis and Daily Review, etc. and have the Expertise to Recalibrate their Very complex and Expensive Technical Trading Algorithms.

Day Traders make use of varying degrees of complex Technical analysis, but they also have to rely on good old Nerves of Steel and LUCK to make a go of it. For any of them to say or even believe otherwise is to proclaim themselves SUPER HUSTLE BUNNY!

With all that said, Yes, Technical Analysis is very helpful and it is a pleasure to read posts on the techniques and commentary. But I for one would quickly fool myself if I thought trading based on Technical Analysis would get me to any promised land. I think there are many more out there such as myself.

Know your self, and well is, in my book, is the most important FACTOR when Investing in these Venture type Markets. Then try to learn something on the Fundamental Value of the Company of Investment Interest. Then, and only then, look to basics in terms of Technical Analysis to assist in TRYING to get in and out of the best Fundamental Company(s) your Research has given you to CONSIDER.

PS: So simple, is it NOT!
