With all due respect, I think anybody attempting to rationalize lead-times for assay results at this point in time are setting themselves up for frustration.
When Noront made the initial Double Eagle discovery, it was very important to have assays turned around quickly in order to maximize share price. Why? Quite simply to ensure that capital could be raised at the highest possible share price to minimize dilution.
Things have changed. As much as management would like to see our S/P north of where it is, they are working towards maximizing long-term shareholder value, perhaps at the expense of short-term shareholder gratification.
It has been said before that Noront management is playing a high stakes chess match. Like being involved in a chess match, our management team have already demonstrated numerous strategic moves.
How about the foresight of raising approximately $40MM through the PP and exercise of accompanying warrants? How many second guessed their decision at that time in light of the continuing credit crisis?
How about all the JV's that Richard has signed? Again, some have second guessed the decision to sign these JV's. Have Noront's own exploration and results to date at DE been quick enough to appease you? Probably not. Soon enough, our JV partners will be spending their money to explore our properties that otherwise in all likelihood would not have been explored for years to come. Not to mention the complexities that arise via all the JV's for a possible unsolicited take-over bid. (Note, all of these JV's have commitments to spend exploration dollars within the first year which for many is fast approaching)
How about many of the strategic additions to the corporate ranks including Prof. Mungall and Mr. Parisotto to name a couple.
How about no exploration results or updates over the last month or so during what is known to be the worst month for Jr. explorers. By design? I say yes. Again, no need to throw fuel on the cool embers.
Unlike international tournament chess rules, we are afforded more than 3-4 minutes per move. Let's afford our management team the opportunity to continuually make the right moves. You have to know that Richard et al are making their moves on way more knowledge and expertise than you and I will ever understand (or know).
Your move,
