You are right, "positive news is getting no respect." This applies to all junior exporation stocks for the last several months. If you owned Minera Andes, you would have seen the price go from over $2.00 to under $1.00 in the last several months. Many other juniors have experienced the same phenomenon. Noront is not exempt from this trend.
All of the junior's prices have been punished. Some attribute this to seasonal pull-back. While that IS A FACTOR (this is well documented that summers are almost always a bad season for many stocks, including junior exploration stocks) it is only one factor. Nevertheless, while Minera Andes and many other juniors have dropped a little more than 50% during this time, Noront has dropped from over $7.00/share to under $2.75/share. Here is the best junior explorer, with the best find of the century, dropping more severely than many of the juniors.
It is the very fact that Noront has shown itself to be involved in the greatest mineral discovery of the last 100 years that Noront has become a particularly choice candidate for manipulation by the market movers. Sprott has already boasted of their gains this last year, and from review of buys and sells, many on here believe they were guilty of achieving such gains at the expense of longs and other holders of Noront. I'll not say more, except that everything is not always as it appears.
