I could not possibly speak for Mr. Nemis, nor claim to know what goes on between his ears, so in the end, whatever happens with Noront and the RoF is ultimately completely outside my control. So I don't waste too much time or energy one way or another worrying about it.
I would prefer to see him remain at the helm, he brought us this far, and I believe he has a plan to carry us through to the end. His vision, as far as I can tell, is concerned with events 6 months and more into the future, whereas even with repeated assurances, this board falls into the same capitulation about the SP on a daily, mind-numbing basis.
I think it's great that he's surrounding himself with high-powered talent so he can conserve his energy and not spread himself too thin so that he can focus on what he does best. And really, we don't know if he's got plans that will extend into the far-reaching future that will require for him to plan for succesorship.
My final point on why I believe he will remain: he already gave us a script for how this whole thing will likely play out, and it was a book called "Voisey's Bay: The Big Score".
I don't recall anywhere in the pages between the covers where Robert Friedland passed the torch to someone else, where he thought he wasn't up to the task of seeing it to fruition.
But that's just my opinion, and just like always, I will have people who agree with me, and people who disagree.
