"I never worry about the bid at the start. I never even bother buying in the first hour of trading, it is all knee jerk reaction. The time to pay attention is around 3:30 - not the last 5 min, but the half hour at the end of the day. In normal conditions 10:30 to 11:00 brings the lows after the intital knee jerk... good time to buy."
