Miskealp - Some nice posts. I found particularly interesting the following quote from the "Mining Weekly" article you posted:

"Before the acquisition of Samancor Chrome by Kermas, BHP Billiton was not an exporter of raw chrome and Xstrata itself was against the export of unbeneficiated ore.

Beneficiated chrome was ten times more valuable than unbeneficiated chrome and South Africa was losing that value-add as well as employment opportunities through the unbridled export of raw chromite ore."

A post I made on Friday evening with links to several sites indicated that the going rate for selling raw chromite ore with a 40% Cr2O3 content (like our ore at Blackbird 1) was presently around $400/tonne. Per the quote from the Mining Weekly article, the indication is that through processing the raw chromite ore through the use of concentrators, etc., it is worth 10 times its present value in its raw ore state. This would mean that one tone of our chromite ore would be worth around $4,000/tonne after processing (if it is a one-to-one value conversion the article indicates). This is at least another ball-park way of putting a valuation on what we have at Blackbird 1.
