Hi All,
I was looking up some information on another stock I have been investing in for awhile and reviewed a recent news release of theirs that discussed deep penetrating EM surveys. Not being a geologist, I decided to brush up on what these types of surveys can do.
While doing the research, I cross-referenced Noront and see that FWR/SPQ/KWG have performed the same testing sequence recently on their property at McFaulds.
Essentially, the company does an airborne VTEM survey and maps out areas with strong electromagnetic responses. This is then followed up with a more accurate ground survey using the Infinitem Deep Pentrating EM Survey.
This survey was jointly developed by Abitibi Geophysics Inc. and SOQUEM Inc, with the financial contribution of the Canada Economic Development and National Research Council's Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP).
Again, excuse my layman butchering of geo stuff, but the survey allows for a time-domain electromagnetic survey method capable of depths of investigation of more than 400 metres, regardless of overburden conditions. It also does not suffer from any blind zones.
The net result are 3-d graphs that equal Rockaur's to some extent. And of course more accurate target information.
I have not gone through the past NRs for Noront and others but I believe this is the first time this technology has been used at McFauldsey have used this technology at McFaulds.
I have included some web links below if people want to read up on this technology.
The thought hit me that we may only be seeing the tip of the iceberg when it comes to results. This recent survey conducted by FWR/SPQ/KWG as announced by FreeWest on July 9 has allowed them to set targets for their immediate drill programs.
Why tip of the iceberg? Noront struck nickel, copper, PGMs, and a few other metals on the very first drill hole. The very first. Then they hit magnificant grades on the fifth. Then they hit again at Eagle 2. These were before the surveys.
Imagine what we could have when we put these technologies to full use. I believe Noront has been running the aireal VTEM surveys to date but I could not find any information as to whether they are using Infinitem or an equivalent technology.
Does anybody know what kind of technologies we have on the ground out there? Interesting stuff anyways and Canadian made.
