A Potential Analogy-Nkomati

I have followed up from Miskealp1's post yesterday re the Nkomati Mine of African Rainbow Minerals in South Africa. The mine is presently owned and operated by, guess who.... Norilsk Nickel. My preliminary sense is that there are remarkable similarities with what has been discovered in the McFaulds area by NOT. Massive Ni/Cu sulphides, grades, associated chromitites, peridotites, high PGEs (+ potential presence of at least one very large, layered ultramafic/mafic intrusion, the Highbank Intrusion???). The parent magma of the Nkomati deposit is postulated as originating from a phase of the formation of the Bushveld Complex. At Nkomati there is even a reference to a "conduit" characterized by massive Ni/Cu sulphides. I am pretty sure that Prof Mungall has already been aware of the similarities.

These similarities are interesting from a geological/ore genesis perspective, but do not imply any similarities in overall size or dimensions.
