NI 43-101 Update (September 2012): 11.1 Mt @ 1.68% Ni, 0.87% Cu, 0.89 gpt Pt and 3.09 gpt Pd and 0.18 gpt Au (Proven & Probable Reserves) / 8.9 Mt @ 1.10% Ni, 1.14% Cu, 1.16 gpt Pt and 3.49 gpt Pd and 0.30 gpt Au (Inferred Resource)
The speculative metals market and specifically the juniour mining sector is not for the faint of heart. I know, I have been in it for over 20 years.
In many of my posts over the last year or so I have re-iterated that what the market does or doesn't do is of little significance to me. In these types of plays the only considerations that I hold dear is what I hear from the drills as related through the assays, and whether the company is strongly and competantly managed.
We have scored high points on both of those considerations.
The NI43-101, in my reading of it, is very promising. What the market wanted to see, or speculated might be the case, is completely irrelevant to my considerations. This National Instrument has proven up the initial resources of what will be, with time, one of the greatest discoveries in the history of Canadian mining.
When I consider my investment, I see only myself and my company, and what we are achieving together.
What is happening in the general market, or how Sprott or TD or any of the others who manipulate for profit act, is irrelevant.
Let me explain the subtleties of my sign off, the "zzzzzzzzzzz"s thing. It is not simply meant to be cute or 'a pump' or anything of that sort. It is meant to convey that these types of finds, these discoveries of substance, are usually borne of fire. The transformation from "oh that looks like an interesting piece of land" or "gee, I wonder what this aerotem reading means" to pulling valuable ore out of the earth in bulk, is difficult, time consuming, complex and expensive. It is never a smooth, worry free transition. Quite the contrary. There is always large risks and periods of heartache and despair. Nothing new here under the sun.
Not for the faint of heart.
So why do we invest like this? Why take this type of burden on?
For some of us, the answer is simple. When a company like Noront comes along, once in a blue moon, and taps into what appears to be the motherlode of all resources, there is simply no greater thrill.
I believe that this is precisiely what Noront has accomplished,
So back to the "zzzzzzzzzzzzzz"s thing.
Because the ride can be stomach churning (witness the last couple of months) for most people it is far less taxing to turn away from the day to day slogging, and wait for the final outcome. Much like a trip to the dentist. Better to sleep through the procedure, and wake up with a shiny white smile. Who needs to stay awake and see all the nasty instruments and the gunk and the drills and the spit and the blood.
Get it?
These are times that the longs should be sleeping peacefully, taking comfort, not from the market machinations, but from the management of the company and the excellent results in the news releases.
My two cents.
Back to sleep.
Wake me at $20.00
