Winter Road To The Coast Considerations

DeBeers has constructed a winter road and a 115kv power line to the Victor Mine that is located approximately 100 air miles to the east of the Double Eagle project.

The Victor Mine is located approximately 60 miles from Attawapiskat. The winter road from Attawapiskat to Moosonee is approximately 150 miles long (both distances are air miles).

Building a winter road to the Victor Mine would provide a winter haul road from the Double Eagle to the railroad in Moosonee of less than 400 miles (~25% added for road routing).

The advantage of going this route is that the cost of the winter road from the Victor Mine could be shared with DeBeers. A power line extension from the Victor Mine could be planned for the road right of way.
