Raising the Bar (SP) with high sell orders!

I've just come off reading another post on another forum where the person who posted illuded to the idea that if we all "put up high sell orders", would that not be a way of "LOCKING" up our shares so that they can't be "borrowed" and then shorted by others. And I'm thinking at no less than $40 (at least at this point in time).
