I would have to agree with your observation, the chart does often reflect the sentiment of the market. It's still more of an art than a science, though.

The MA's won't move as one, but if all goes as planned, the short term ( trading) average will overtake the investing MA. This crossover has been quite predicitve in the past, but others may hold a differing opinion.

I think we're at a flashpoint here, myself, and the chart is displaying anticipation.
