"and furthermore the delays in achieving acceptable results from the laboratory have no bearing on the actual results that will be forthcoming."
I keep finding greater meaning in these words, however, it is reading between the lines. No fact, just speculation and impression. So, I'm wondering if an alternate source of duplicate assays is being done. Hence, "... have no bearing on the actual results that will be forthcoming." I know that others believe this to be the case. I don't have the answer to this but there is the theory.
In addition, some think that NOT did not know of the errors at the luncheon. I would wonder how this could be the case that there was not one report back on assays from all of the samples submitted. I confess in not knowing the truth about this, but it strikes me as odd that it has taken until last week to get any information on assays at all. I still believe that they have been working on corrections for a while, until they were compelled to report.
Conspiracy theories about assay sabotage are interesting, but given that the lab knew from the original agreement that they would be second guessed on assays, do these theories hold as much water? Both sides can easily be arued.... but just for fun and amusement. Can't wait for the book!
