If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck it has a chance of being a duck.

In regards to the botched assay results Noront still may be able to glean information that is important to their drilling. Lets say the control samples were coming back 15% higher for platinum then the controls actually were. While these results are outside the range of quality control they still may indicate the presence of platinum in the drill core. They may be able to take the botched results and assume all platinum results will be 15% high. Certainly the assay results were not within the quality control standards but could still be valuable from a hit/miss scenario.
