Something else you can consider is using some of the profits to maximize your RRSP contributions, thus reducing your taxable income for the year. In general, you should get back about 40% of your RRSP contributions. If you haven't already maxed out your RRSP contributions, this can be a good way to offset a major capital gains tax.
