I am certain that many here are disappointed that geoprof has chosen not to post on our forum any longer. Having said that, he is still active via the private message forum as per the following conversation that I have had with him.
For disclosure purposes, these correspondences between geoprof and myself are the only exchange of dialogue that we have ever had.
Hopefully geoprof will utilize this post as a catalyst to rethink his decision to not participate in this public forum.
So here was our PM converstion:

I would expect that as the discount rate increases, that the NPV decreases.

Geoprof, can you elaborate a little.
Thanks in advance.

See the following link. The NPV is always inversely related to the discount rate.

Thank you for the link. As I am neither and engineer or mathematician, I will continue to use my as stated "overly simplistic" valuation model.
Having said that geoprof, even if we were to utilize a more sophisticated model, we are not privy to the all variables yet. I think that you would also concur that even Noront does not have all the required info yet.
Thanks again,
Cheers,
Mike

Hey, when you screw up admit it. You're fortunate that I don't post anymore! Your posts are for the most part deserving of points earned. In this case, guess what I'm going to do with the post we're talking about? I can still vote!

geoprof, did you have a bad night last night or something. I am going to guess yes!
It is unfortunate that you don't post anymore as I would love to see you put that NPV forumla (in the link that you kindly provided) to use for the benefit of all on the forum. If you are not inclined to do so, maybe you can just send your calculations via PM.
With respect to voting geoprof, knock yourself out!
Hope you have a better night tonight geoprof.
Cheers,
Mike
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Dear Mike
Why don't you post the formula and let others do the calculations? Maybe there are engineers and mathematicians amongst us. I would think that anybody with a high school diploma could put the numbers in the formula and come out with accurate solutions and then come out with intelligent conclusions.
Sleep well tonight. I did last night and will continue to do so.
Ciao

geoprof, as you are not posting on the board anymore, maybe I can help you out. It's the kinda guy I am. I'm inclined to post on the board the following:
Geoprof was kind enough to send me this NPV forumla via private message.
As you all know, he is not posting on the board anymore so he recommended that I post this on the board because he seems to think that anyone with a high school diploma could put in the numbers and come out with accurate solutions and intelligent conclusions.
Apparently geoprof was not satisfied with my stated "overly simplistic" valuation model in response to d12's request. It is a shame that geoprof does not post on the forum any longer as I am sure we would all like to know what our actual/real valuation is.
Anybody out there with a high school diploma who would like to take a stab at this one?
So what do ya think geoprof?

Hi Mike
Be my guest, but only if you post all of our PMs.

Guys and gals, I appologize for posting this dialogue. We know that geoprof is still active but just not as public as many would prefer.
Cheers,
Hopefully everyone has a good night!
