I get the general jest of your post!
The Shorts are responsible for ~25 % of the trading action for all of March and I expect almost all of that was after March 10th or 11th. But to NOT drive the SP through the roof they must have also been selling rather strongly to themselves via different accounts.
Maybe the biggest and best thing to have happened is that the Day Traders and short term Swing traders departed as their typical models used for guidance were not very functional during this time. Any that were still stuck in a position were likely on the Mc Fauld's Lake Forum screaming "NOT NEEDS NEWS!!!" and similar BS! Too bad for them!!!
As for this forum making a difference, I hope it is. Many, such as myself, would be wondering intensely "What the Hell is Going On" if it was NOT for this Forum. Thus the most important difference this forum makes to the average Retail Investors its sharing of concerns and considerations on ALL aspects of "What The Hell Is Going On". No offence to individuals like Sneezer or Aissie, but most individuals are in the least like you and many others who are mostly "SELF".
What this Forum CAN'T DO is have all who read or post conform to a single set of rules. that happens to be a good thing as far as I am concerned. Why? Cause we are all individuals and we all need (should) to keep to our own council. Sharing and challenging can only help most if not all to do their own council better.
AND I may be wrong is my assumption here, but, it appears that most RETAIL INVESTORS are doing a rather good job of making their own decisions and therefore the Venture Capital guys are mostly playing among themselves to see who gets how much of each others manipulation Shares. In the process they are hopefully killing the individual Day Trader/Swing Trader HOT SHOTS with all their predictions and mistaken Facts in place of their crass OPINION, however stupid their OPINION may be.

PS : Have a nice early Spring Weekend to ALL.
