I had the same problem with the fees. Last year I opened a self-directed RSP with TD Waterhouse. I do all my own trades for $9.99 each. The contingency is that you accumulate at least 30 trades over three months and maintain at least 30 trades. The fees will be reduced to the $9.99 prices from a 1.5% of sales fee. I as well hold a high percentage of NOT in this account. However I trade NOT in my other non registered account to keep the traded count above 30. Hope this helps. Diamondj
