Your post is very well thought out. There is some tension and there will always be some.
There are many who go long. There are others who do both. I have a feeling that the way things are inferred on this board posters get the general impression that day trading is bad or not a good thing so those day trading are hesitant to post. This creates some tension because the post can be construed as a bash.
I day trade as do many others on this board but its not for some and most especially the newbies. Especially when, in many cases, this is their first purchase or set of purchases.
I don't discuss my day trading nor do I discuss day trading on the very board I'm posting on. I never knock a stock in some vain attempt to scare people. I am always aware that there are people's feelings involved on a forum and I'm not here to hurt feelings. Yet there are some who do.
Everyone on this board will graduate to day trading in their own time. They get the picture real quick when they see a stock drop in sp and they realize they bought high. They will trade down and that will be their first day trade.
So there is some tension. The thing is to open up with some day trading posts as a teaching tool for some but also to give those who day trade more of a voice. At the same time we could give the longs the respect due them.
But I do agree with you that there is some tension. Any discussions re this issue (especially if I'm wrong) would be greatly appreciated. I think it is time for the board to address this issue unless you feel the tension is from elsewhere.
Respectfully of course
